Adding Administration Navigation Links in SP2010

I’m sure that most of you have been playing around with SharePoint 2010 since it’s beta release. (If not, add this to your links http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/)

When navigating around in Central Administration, I noticed that some very popular administration areas were somewhat tiresome to click to.

What happened to my SSP Admin link on the left hand navigation area???!!!

A minor gripe but something that I’ve been grumbling about for quite some time now.

Buried in a Jie Li blog post ‘User Profile Sync Setup in SharePoint Server 2010 Beta’ there was mention about adding links to the Resource link area on the main Central Administration page.

So is this worth a blog post? Maybe not. But if you are like me, you are probably getting carried away with all the new functionality of #sp2010. Don’t forget about usability and the administrators that are taking over after you! (So add those links to your farm, especially you consultants that leave after a month or so).
